  Just helped my kid get his first used car.

  my son, only child, age 19, college sophomore, just got his first used car.

  most importantly, he learned the fun and exhilarating process of buying a used car from a dealer.

  he had saved some money, but everything around the $5000 range was basically a shit box on wheels.

  years ago...a chap i knew was driving a smart vw golf gti--i thought he must be doing ok--till i saw the screw driver in the ignition. STOLEN !

  my dad bought a banger for both of us--and mum--to learn in. once we had all passed the test he bought a brand new car--and gave me the banger. i straight away sold it--for a profit--bought a van and shoved a mattress in the back. you can guess the rest.

  i recently came across the above watchtower article which spoke about conducting bible studies which lead to baptism.

  it progressed to say that if the bible study instructor does not see growth within the student or the desire to work towards baptism, then the studies should end.

  even i can remember the 6 months time limit--that was in the late 60's. it was easy to find lonely old people to spend an hour with--provided their room was warm on a cold winters afternoon.

  well--the shit has really hit the fan now in the UK. highest figures since it began--only now the really cold weather ( for the UK ) is just starting--not getting warmer like at the start last spring..

  ive got a feeling its going to go from bad to a lot worse. i hope i'm wrong.

  i dont know of anyone who has been vaccinated yet.

  i ran a poll on a facebook group--asking if people would be prepared to pay for the vac to jump the queue--a few said yes--the vast majority said no--that they would NOT have the vac AT ALL !

  How many TRUE BELIEVERS do you think are left in the Organization?

  i have a few jw relatives who are true believers.

  by this i mean, they believe with all their heart that 1914 was the beginning of the last days, that this is the last generation, that we are in the very last of the last hour of this system of things, and that you should obey the governing body even if it does not make sense.

  all of them are in their 60s and up into their 90s there is nothing you can say or show them to convince them or even cause a small doubt that the wt is not god organization.

  I have a deep seated hatred for the leadership of the JW Cult

  i look back on my life & realize all major mistakes fall at the feet of the jw leadership.

  no college, no birthdays, basically no celebrations.

  lived my younger years as an outcast.

  i was one of the lucky ones--my ma got religion when i was about 10 years old--dad followed a couple of years after. At 11 i was yanked out of school morning assemblies and religious lessons. no more xmas and birthdays.

  baptised at 14..alongside my dad--and 6 other kids from the same KH. left school at 15--although dad wanted me to stay on--go to uni . pioneering at 16, working 2 days a week as a window cleaner.

  courting at 18..married at 20..for the usual JW reason. became a dad at 23..at which point i left the cult.

  BUT..my parents accepted my decision..and never shunned me. it helped we lived 150 miles away--so their cong really had no idea about me any more.

  However it did mean my dad stopped being an elder after i while. ive wondered recently whether he was deleted because of his association with me. Maybe thats how he wanted it. I never asked him.
